Loose Leaf Collection
- Date: -
- Location: Municipal Service Building
2625 E. Glendale Avenue
Appleton, Wisconsin 54911
- Introduction: Residents may rake their loose leaves and yard waste into the gutter or to the edge of the pavement on the Sunday night prior to their pick up week.
Loose leaves and yard waste are picked up in 2 week intervals from October 9 through November 17, 2017.
Rake leaves, small yard/garden debris, branches and brush into the gutter or to the edge of the pavement on the Sunday night prior to your pick up week.
- Zone 1 begins Sunday, October 8 and then every other Sunday through November 5, 2017.
- Zone 2 begins Sunday, October 15 and then every other Sunday through November 12, 2017.
Branches and brush must be cut to 4 foot lengths and bundled with biodegradable twine not to exceed 45 pounds. You may use paper lawn/leaf bags, but they are not required for this collection.
Remember to keep piles low, so that children are not hidden from motorist and close to the curb, so as not to interfere with traffic. During the fall pick up, City crews will collect leaves and yard waste from the street gutter only. Leaves on the following streets will be pushed into piles on side streets as often as possible, but due to heavy traffic, residents are encouraged to transport leaves to the yard waste sites rather than raking them into the gutter.

- Calumet Street
- College Avenue
- Lawe Street - College Ave. - Wisconsin Ave.
- Mason Street - north of Prospect Avenue

If weather permits, there will be one additional non-scheduled pass through the City starting on November 20. Snow may prevent us from doing this additional pick up. If weather prevents the City from completing the leaf and yard waste pick up after your final collection week, residents are responsible for leaf and yard waste disposal. No additional special pick ups will be scheduled. Because it is crucial to our leaf pick up operations to be able to work during the night, starting October 8, the Appleton Police Department will not grant permission for overnight parking all week in the zone scheduled for collection. Vehicles that are illegally parked overnight (between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.) will be subject to ticketing and towing.
The Glendale Yard Waste Site is open year round. The Whitman Yard Waste Site is open through November 20, 2017.
