- Introduction: City of Appleton announces Spring Curbside Yard Waste Collection Dates
Curbside Pickup of Yard Waste, Branches & Brush – April 17 thru May 12, 2017
The City of Appleton Public Works will begin the spring curbside yard waste, branches and brush collection on Monday, April 17 and continue for four consecutive weeks with the last pickup on Friday, May 12, 2017.
Yard waste will be collected from the terrace on the day FOLLOWING your regular garbage day.
For example: If your garbage day is Friday, April 14, put yard waste out on Sunday, April 16 for collection on Monday, April 17

Yard waste must be in containers, lawn and leaf paper bags or tied in bundles. Do not use plastic bags, boxes, tarps or 55 gallon fiber barrels or their liners.
*Containers should have handles, be 33 gallons or less and weigh less than 45 pounds when full.
*Paper lawn and leaf bags can be purchased at most hardware stores and home improvement centers.
*Branches and brush must be cut to 4 foot lengths and bundled with twine. Bundles must be less than 2 feet around and weigh less than 45 pounds.
*In spring, branches, brush and lawn bags must be placed on your terrace, between the sidewalk and the curb, the night before collection.
There are 2 City of Appleton yard waste sites for those residents who prefer to drop off their debris.

Both sites are CLOSED on City observed holidays.
Please be prepared to show proof of residency to the attendant. In the event of a major storm, storm pickup information will be distributed through Public Service Announcements on the TV, radio, in The Post Crescent, Facebook, Twitter and www.appleton.org. The decision for storm pickup is determined on a storm-by-storm basis and is determined by evaluating the severity and widespread extent of the damage.
