- August 11 through September 8 In-person absentee voting in the
Office of the City Clerk between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. 100 N. Appleton Street, 6th Floor
November 4, 2008 General Election
- Now through October 30 - Submit a signed request to receive a
ballot by mail (you must provide an address where you want the
ballot mailed) or
- October 6 through November 3 - In-person absentee voting in the
Office of the City Clerk between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. 100 N. Appleton
Street, 6th Floor

of the annual citizen information session
"How to be an Alderperson" - A guide for public
participation in Local Government.
If held, this class will contain information on the structure of the Appleton
city government, the vision/strategic plan for the city, development
issues facing the city, duties and time commitments of an
Alderperson, the city budget process, staff/council relationships
and information on how to run for the office of Alderperson.

Candidates' guide, nomination papers and other campaign
registration forms are available for pickup in the clerk's
office. Nomination signatures cannot be collected before this
date. |

January 2, 2009 |
5:00 p.m. is the deadline to file all campaign forms in the
clerk's office for ballot placement. |

February 17, 2009 |
Primary election held if three or more candidates file in a district. |
|
April 7, 2009 |
Spring Election |
|
April 15, 2009 |
New alderpersons take office. |
Qualifications by election day you must be:
- 18 years of age
- Live in the district you will
represent
- Qualified
elector in the City
