In order to ensure the safety and comfort of our passengers, we request that you follow these policies:
Front Seating Area
Please offer front seating area to seniors and passengers with disabilities.
Food & Drink
Passengers are discouraged from eating or drinking on the bus. Open food and beverages are not allowed.
Radios, Tape/CD, and MP3 players
Please use earphones or turn off your portable music devices while on the bus.
No Smoking
Smoking is not allowed on Valley Transit buses or shelters, at the Appleton Transit Center (including outside areas), or at the Neenah Transit Center.
No Littering
Please help us keep the buses clean. A trash receptacle is located at the front of every bus for your convenience.
Carry-On Policy
Passengers should not travel with more packages than can be carried aboard safely in one attempt. All personal items must be kept out of the aisle while on the bus.
Weapons
Weapons of any kind, including firearms or knives are prohibited, unless carried on board by a law enforcement officer. This also includes bus shelters and inside transfer centers.
Shopping Carts
Shopping/Utility Carts are allowed on the bus under the following conditions:
- Items must not block the aisle
- Items must not restrict passenger movement
- All items must be controlled by passenger
- Passenger must be able to carry the items aboard in one trip
- Packages and/or bags must not occupy the bus seat if the bus is crowded
- Carry-on items are not allowed in the securement area
Strollers
For safety reasons, children must be removed from strollers prior to boarding the bus. Strollers must be folded prior to boarding and kept out of the aisle while on board.
Walkers
Walkers may be brought aboard but should be folded whenever possible and must not block the aisle of the bus.
Other wheeled devices
Roller blades, roller skates, and skateboards can be carried aboard, but need to be stowed in a bag or held on your lap. These items should not be placed on the floor where they can roll around while the bus is in motion. Bicycles, tricycles, wagons, scooters and other wheeled devices that do not qualify as ADA mobility devices, are not allowed inside the bus.
Animals
Service animals, such as guide dogs, are permitted on all Valley Transit buses and at the Transit Center. Other animals are not allowed on the bus or inside the Transit Center unless they are in an enclosed container that can be held on your lap. With the exception of service animals, large animals are not permitted.
Hazardous Materials
Large batteries, gasoline cans, propane tanks, and oxygen tanks other than small tanks meant for personal use, are not allowed on board. This includes new or empty vessels.
