Appleton Police Arrest Illinois Man for Incident at Lawrence University (posted May 10, 2013)
On 05/10/13 at 1:50AM, the Appleton Police Department and Appleton Fire Department responded to Trevor Hall, a dorm on the Lawrence University campus, for a fire alarm. Due to the alarm, approximately 160 students were evacuated from the building. Investigation into the alarm showed that papers hanging on the doors, outside of multiple rooms, had been started on fire. Minor damage was reported as a result of the fires.
Investigators located a man who had been visiting a resident of the dorm and who had been seen in the area of the fires. He admitted to starting the papers on fire. Alcohol was a factor in the incident.
Antonio J. Gonzalez (M/U, 02/14/94) of Chicago, Illinois was taken into custody and was confined on a charge of Negligent Handling of Burning Material at the Outagamie County Jail.
