American Flag Disposal
As American flags become worn or damaged, it becomes important for their disposal to be proper and dignified.
Appliance Tags
Appliance tags, grass cards, tire tags and overflow tags are available at the following locations.

All major appliances require a disposal tag. Collection is weekly on garbage day.

The City of Appleton has three business/industrial parks that will provide your business the exposure and access you need.

Construction Materials generated by a contractor should be disposed of by the contractor.
Extra Garbage Bags
Extra garbage bags that would normally fit into the City supplied garbage container need tags.
Frozen Water Pipes
During the cold winter months, water pipes can freeze. To reduce this possibility, we suggest you take the following precautions:

Items that are too large to fit into your garbage can can be placed out for collection every other week.

Health education and investigation of elevated blood lead levels.
Lumber
Lumber is collected every other week at the curb on your garbage day opposite recycling.
Mailbox Placement
Proper mailbox placement is important for City crews as well as Post Office mail carriers. Snowplows, street sweepers, and garbage trucks can damage mailboxes that extend over the road. Please check your mailbox to make sure that it is in compliance with Post Office guidelines.
Medical Sharps
Medical sharps under Wisconsin law, sharps must be treated before disposal.

Information about neighborhood programs and opportunities.
New Residential Recycling Carts
In an effort to meet our key strategy of sustainability as an organization and a community, the City of Appleton Common Council approved providing an automated recycling cart to all residential properties in 2013.
Overflow Collection
Large item collection will be held every other week on your regular garbage day opposite your recycling week.
