Hydrant Flushing - September 2020

We will be beginning our fall hydrant flushing the week of September 8 until approximately September 25. 

Flushing hydrants is a controlled maintenance procedure that is vital to the clarity and quality of the water system because it clears iron and other mineral deposits from the distribution pipes, ultimately providing you with fresh, clean water.

If you happen to see us working in your neighborhood, it is best to limit your water use until we have finished flushing and moved onto the next area. Sometimes residents may temporarily see rust colored water from their faucets. This is not harmful and can easily be cleared by drawing water through a cold tap without a filter like a bathtub for a few minutes.
