The Parking Utility of the City of Appleton consists of an operation section and an enforcement section.
The operation section has responsibility to maintain the four City of Appleton owned parking ramps and all of the on street and off street parking stalls and meters. To accomplish this we have custodians and technicians working nearly around the clock six days a week. Maintaining the 3,230 parking stalls in the parking structures and the 665 parking meters is a worthy task.
The parking enforcement section has the responsibility of enforcing all City of Appleton ordinances and all Wisconsin State Statutes pertaining to parking. They issue citations using hand held computers for such violations as loading zone violations, no-parking zones, expired time zones, handicapped parking and expired parking meters. While doing their job they record and report all parking meters that are not operating correctly and all signing that needs repairing or replacing.
Fee Structure for Ramp Parking

Event Parking
For select performances at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, the City of Appleton institutes an Event Parking Policy. During Event Parking the cost to use the Green Ramp will be $10, cash only, paid upon entry. Patrons will receive a validated ticket that is needed to exit the ramp. This will be the only way to use the Green Ramp during the event. No credit cards will be accepted during Event Parking.Event Parking will apply to all Broadway and Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra shows and may be implemented for other performances as needed.
Metered Street Parking
Street parking may also be available. Parking meters are $1.00 per hour and are limited to two hours from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Meter parking is free after 6pm on weekdays and all day on Sundays and holidays.
Passport Parking App
Download the free Passport Parking App on your Apple or Android devices. Payment for parking can be made by debit or credit card. The app allows users to extend parking time remotely – provided it is within the time limit of the parking space. Users can also receive notifications when their time is about to expire. The meters will still accept coins for users that prefer that method. The app is available for use at all of the almost 1,000 metered parking spaces across downtown.
