Age Friendly Appleton
In 2022, AARP designated Appleton, WI as an "Age Friendly Community" because we have made a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for residents of all ages, particularly older adults.
We are conducting this survey to learn more about and prioritize the needs and preferences of older adults in their planning and decision-making processes, with the goal of promoting healthy aging and improving the quality of life for all residents.
This designation from the AARP signifies that the City of Appleton has taken concrete steps to address issues such as accessible housing, transportation, health care, social engagement, and other factors that contribute to aging well. By prioritizing the needs of older adults, these age-friendly communities are not only helping their older residents to thrive, but also building a stronger and more vibrant community for everyone.
