Envision Appleton
In 2016, the City of Appleton began conducting a 5-year update to its 2010-2030 Comprehensive Plan - a document that guides future development and growth throughout the city.
This 5-year update revised several areas of the comprehensive plan, including updates to the Parks and Recreation Master Plan and a rewrite of the Downtown Plan.
"What makes Appleton great is a question I often get asked and it's an easy one to answer," said Mayor Tim Hanna. "From our riverfront development to our thriving downtown, our growing art scene to our growing neighborhoods, we have a lot of great things happening in Appleton. It's one of the reasons we've been featured so frequently in so many "best of" lists over the last few years."
The City of Appleton Comprehensive Plan 2010-2030 Text and Future Land Use Map Amendments were adopted by the Common Council on March 15, 2017. Subsequent to its adoption, the City is now working to carry out the various goals, objectives, and policies found in the Plan.
We created a website about the comprehensive plan update; the Envision Appleton website, originally developed during the 5-year update to share information, will remain active and will provide information that relates to Comprehensive Plan implementation.
