Assessment Process Important Dates for 2024
January 1 - All property is assessed as it existed on January 1
January 31 - Full payment of taxes due OR if paying in installments, due date of first tax installment payment
March 1 - Tax Exemption Requests due
May - Assessment Notices are mailed to only those properties that changed
May 13 - 24 - Open Book (Property owners' opportunity to discuss value with an assessor)
June 5 (Initial Day) - Board of Review held (Formal appeal process. Assessments are final upon adjournment.)
November - Budgets debated and adopted by taxing authorities, mill rate established
December - Tax bills are calculated and mailed
