2024 Election Dates
Spring Primary: Tuesday, February 20th
Spring Election & Presidential Preference: Tuesday, April 2nd
Partisan Primary: Tuesday, August 13th
General Election: Tuesday, November 5th
The Municipal Board of Canvassers will meet Friday, November 8, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.
There are two provisional ballots for Ward 1.
There is one provisional ballot for Ward 13.

Absentee Voting
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT RETURNING YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT :
On Election Day, absentee ballots must be returned to your designated polling place.
Disabled voters have the right to seek accommodations when returning their absentee ballot. The Ballot Drop Off Accommodation Request Form is an optional resource available to disabled voters to assist them in authorizing someone else to return their absentee ballot. Completing the form is not mandatory.
In-Person Absentee Voting:
In-person absentee voting concluded on November 1 at 12:00 p.m.
Mailed Absentee Ballots
If you wish to have an absentee ballot sent to you by mail, you must first be a registered voter.
You will need to supply a copy of your photo ID with your request, unless you already have one on file.
Here are the ways in which you may request an absentee ballot:
- Online at https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/.
- Fill out the absentee ballot application and mail it to the City Clerk's Office.
- Email your request to us at electionclerk@appleton.org.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot to be mailed to you is 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 31st.
Voter Registration
If you have not voted before or if you have moved since you last voted, you will need to register to vote for the election. There are several ways to register to vote:
- Register online: If you have a Wisconsin driver’s license or state ID card and your address has been updated with the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles, you may register online at https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/ . The deadline for online registration is October 16, 2024.
- Register by mail: You may send your completed and signed registration form along with proof of residence to the Appleton City Clerk’s Office, 100 N. Appleton Street, Appleton WI 54911, as long as it is postmarked by October 16, 2024.
- Register in person: Visit us at City Hall and register in person with the City Clerk’s Office through Friday, November 1, 2024. To speed up the process, please access the registration form online and have it filled out when you come in, or fill out the hardcopy form prior to coming to the counter. Please be sure to bring proof of your current residence.
- Register at the polls: Go to your polling place on Election Day and register in person. You will be able to vote immediately after completing registration, so be sure to bring your proof of residence as well as your photo ID.
