The compost process produces a rich, soil like material with many beneficial nutrients and conditioning properties. Appleton Compost nutrients are in a complex form which helps to slowly release the nutrients as the biosolids decay. This naturally occurring process creates a longer lasting supply of beneficial nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and sulfur than traditional chemical fertilizers and is available for plant uptake over a longer period of time which prevents nutrient run-off to our waterways. Appleton biosolids compost contains soil conditioning properties by increasing aeration, improving water retention, and beneficial bacteria that stimulates decay and increases soil organic matter. Biosolids compost has been successfully used in markets across the country from basic landscaping and gardening applications to large-scale site restoration and remediation. A few recent uses of Appleton compost have been for area landfill capping projects, community gardens, and lawn or turf establishment.
